About STAR 2026
CCA Florida is proud to announce that going forward into the 12th year of competition, the STAR Tournament presented by Yamaha will transform into a competition dedicated exclusively to providing scholarships, boats, community service hours and great prizes for kids ages 6-17.
The competition will continue to award $100,000 in college scholarships to youth ages 6-17. All they need to do is go fishing over the summer, take pictures of their saltwater catch with the STAR Official Identifier and submit their entries in the competition via the iAngler app. Scholarship winners are determined by a random draw giving all participants a shot at winning. To date CCA Florida STAR and our partners have awarded over $1.2 million dollars in college scholarships to youth just for catching fish.
The competition will also offer a Teen Challenge Division awarding one fortunate teen with a new boat, possibly their first.
The Most Fish Division will offer either a boat, kayak or fishing paddleboard as First place prize.
Plus the Trash Division, where kids are encouraged to pick up garbage while they are out on the water and enter their photos to win prizes and earn community service hours for their good deeds.
The summer long competition begins Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday May 23rd and ends Labor Day, September 7th, 2026. CCA Florida, Guy Harvey Foundation, Yamaha, Realtree Fishing and West Marine along with other great partners will be creating our Next Generation of anglers and conservationist.
We are excited to have Florida STAR become the largest saltwater tournament in the state dedicated exclusively to youth anglers. It is only $20 for a youth to participate, this includes a 1-year Youth New Tide membership in CCA Florida.
